A Christmas Prayer

Lord, Grant us the ability to focus ferociously on our Savior during this blessed season. Amidst the fudge and fur trees, the gifts and glitter, the shopping and shipping, and the yule logs and yummy treats, may we persistently remember that Christmas is preeminently Emmanuel, God with us.

And as we unwrap each sweet gift placed beneath our embellished trees, may we whisper a heartfelt prayer of thanksgiving for the most precious Gift of all, the undeserved,unearned, unmerited gift of salvation. Thank you holy, holy God for sending your precious Son Jesus to be born of a virgin, to live a perfect life, and to die on the cross for the sins of the world. If there is any peace in this world, it is only due to Your generous gift. We thank You.
